The Sweet Advice of Josh Meyers

Q:  How do I deal with procrastination?

A: Everyone procrastinates. Whether or not it’s the project you are holding off until the last minute or the job application you still have to fill out, everyone experiences procrastination. I’m here to tell you, there are ways to deal with it.

A big way of to deal with procrastination is by forcing yourself to do it (“JUST DO IT!” – Shia LaBeouf). You have the control over what you do. If you keep telling yourself to get what you need done, then you are bound to stop what you are doing and complete the task. The second way that to stop procrastinating is by having something to look forward to when your task is done. For me, I look forward to watching the latest Philadelphia sports game on that night. I also like looking forward to going out to dinner with my family. You need to tell yourself, “Hey, if you get this done, you can look forward to (anything that you can look forward to).” Finally, the last way that can make dealing with procrastination easier, is having a friend over to either keep you company or help you when you are doing what you were procrastinating. It’s always better to have someone to talk to when you are doing something that you dreaded.

Q: What Netflix shows do you reccomend?

A: Well, I would recommend How I Met Your Mother but sadly, Netflix took it away from us. That means no more of Barney and his famous quote, “Legen… Wait for it… Dary.” Anyway, a show that I recommend on Netflix is The Flash. The Flash was the very first show I watched on Netflix. Starring Grant Gustin (some of you may know him as Sebastian Smythe on Glee which is also on Netflix); the show about the fastest man alive is (no pun intended) fast-paced with a balance of humor, drama, action, suspense, romance, and tears. As of right now, Netflix has the first three seasons of The Flash available to watch. Another Netflix show I recommend is The Office. Steve Carell plays the hilarious boss of the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company, Michael Scott. The Office shows the antics that happen in the Dunder Mifflin office that will make you fall out of your seat laughing. The characters of the show are the driving force of the humor in The Office. The last Netflix show that I recommend is Friends. Friends is one of the most popular shows on Netflix and it lives up to the hype. The show follows the lives of five friends, set in Manhattan. In all of its ten seasons, Friends carries humor, drama, and romance. Just like The Office, the characters are the biggest part of Friends. Trust me, these three shows won’t disappoint.
