Adele set to release first album in 6 years

Adele is back!
The music icon announced that she will release her fourth studio album, ’30,’ on November 19. The singer recently released her comeback single, “Easy on Me,” which debuted #68 on the Billboard Hot 100 with only five hours of tracking. The song is predicted to skyrocket to #1 on next week’s chart with the standard tracking time needed for a number one debut.
Should the single go #1 on the chart, it will mark the singer’s fifth number one on Billboard Hot 100, following “Hello,” “Rolling in the Deep,” “Someone Like You,” and “Set Fire to the Rain.”
The comeback single remains #1 on US iTunes where it has been at the top since its’ release. “Easy on Me” sold 14,800 units in its first five hours of release. It became the most played song in US radio history during its first week on the air, and it became the most added song in the history of Mediabase.
It’s extremely safe to say that Adele has such a powerful impact on the music industry and the sales and stream numbers of her latest single prove that.
The 33-year-old London singer hasn’t revealed a tracklist for her upcoming album yet, but she did announce that she is doing a television special in support of her album.
CBS plans to release an Adele special that will feature a sit-down with Oprah Winfrey.
It’s billed as a ‘One Night Only’ event and will air on the major network just five days prior to the release of “30.” The primetime event will also feature live performances of several of Adele’s biggest hits. Her last television special was in 2015 when a live concert performance in New York City hit millions of television screens on NBC.
Adele hasn’t announced if she plans to do any sort of touring to support the album, but she should! It would be very interesting to see if Adele does a stadium tour instead of an arena tour – something that she can easily do with the fan base she has in markets across the world.
Will Adele break even more records with “30?” Probably! We will just have to wait until November 19 when the music superstar releases her highly anticipated album.
