The Voyager

MAHAWA BANGOURA

MAHAWA BANGOURA, Co-Editor-in-Chief

As a published author, Mahawa enjoys creating intangible worlds with beloved characters that she loves to put in impossible situations. During her debut last year, she became the Arts and Culture editor after only two months at The Voyager and successfully covered sixteen articles.

As a senior this year, she is elated to be the Co-Editor-in-Chief and bring the newspaper to life from layout to something her peers and teachers can be proud to hold in their hands. From current events, controversial topics, politics, racism, and entertainment, she’s elated to bring all types of news to her school.

When she’s not writing for The Voyager, she is reading another one of Sarah J. Maas’s high fantasy novels and writing heartfelt, but honest, reviews on her Bookstagram. You can also find her with a Canon camera hanging around her neck ready to capture life’s moments. She is looking forward to leaving a mark on The Voyager!

We are bringing back the “Whats On Your Nightstand” column. We will feature, on a rotating basis, each department at Eastern. This column features a paragraph or two about the books Eastern’s English teachers are reading. This project will allow people to expand upon the genres theyre reading, appreciate the love of reading, and encourage them to read even more.
