Immoral Starburst Flavors

Surely you’ve eaten a Starburst before, but you probably don’t know about the unusual flavors that no one talks about. The most common ones are cherry, strawberry, orange, and lemon, but we can assure you that those four aren’t the only flavors that deserve recognition (for better or worse).

is that cherry kiwi… credits to Wrigley

Surely you’ve eaten a Starburst before, but you probably don’t know about the unusual flavors that no one talks about. The most common ones are cherry, strawberry, orange, and lemon, but we can assure you that those four aren’t the only flavors that deserve recognition (for better or worse).

Infamous Reds

The most popular flavor from Starburst’s candy is the strawberry chew, so Starburst made a pack called “FaveREDS” including all red and pink flavors. There is a fruit punch flavor in this pack, and it’s the worst flavor out of the reds. The gruesome accuracy of the sweet fruit punch could make even the strongest gag with just one bite. The texture and chewiness of Starbursts does not work with fruit punch. This flavor is inferior, and a disappointment to all of the red flavors in the pack.

Although Cherry Kiwi isn’t in the pack, it’s still a red colored Starburst, and the aftertaste is atrocious. You’ll need bleach to wash this taste away. (Don’t drink bleach though.)

Insane Yellows

The lemon flavor is another of their popular flavors, hence why it’s in the original pack. Despite the fact that there isn’t a yellow pack like the reds, there are other Starbursts that are yellow. Piña Colada is found in their tropical pack, and we can tell you that it’s the most unappetizing chew in the pack. Piña Colada is great as a drink, but unsuitable for candy.

The Piping’ Pineapple in the “Sweet Heat” pack is a weird flavor that thankfully got discontinued in 2019. Some reviewers say that it tasted like actual pineapple with a kick of spiciness in it. It’s spicy? That’s vile. Disgusting. This is why the statistics say that people hate yellow flavored Starbursts.

Crazy Greens

Most people don’t know green Starbursts exist, but they do. In the 1970-80’s, lime was an original Starburst flavor, which is now replaced by cherry. Lemon lime is exactly what it sounds like– lemon and lime put together. It’s mainly popular in the UK and other parts of Europe in the Fruity Chews pack.

Kiwi Strawberry is another green colored Starburst that is a sour tropical in the new Starburst Airs Gummies pack. Honestly, this sounds like a good flavor. Unlike the other Starburst Flavors that we’ve spoken about, I think I’d like to eat that one. Strawberry and kiwi is a combination that will never fail to impress me.

Other Strange Colors

Orange isn’t that strange, but it’s the least liked of the 4 most common Starbursts. I don’t understand why, as it doesn’t have a strange, foul taste. It’s not the greatest flavor, but it definitely isn’t bad. Many other candies like lollipops and gummies have an orange flavored variant, so this one doesn’t seem too bad.

However, the Grape Slushie flavor is a whole different story. Grape flavored candies usually don’t taste great, but adding slushie to the mix doesn’t make it better. In the Starbursts Duos pack, there is a blue raspberry-lemon flavored starburst. I have mixed feelings about this one, but it would probably taste pretty good. Honestly, it tastes like a regular old raspberry lemonade that you’d get at Outback.

The Sour Green Apple Starburst seems like it would be a good flavor. This is a green flavor, but it’s also strange. It isn’t very popular, and who would imagine a Sour Green Apple flavor for a chewy treat?

A Yummy Snack

Starbursts are a chewy, yummy snack. The main flavors are pretty good, but we don’t need all of these extras that no one likes. Tell us, do you like Starbursts? What’s your favorite flavor?
