Why Latin Music is Better
Latin music has captivated many listeners, especially this generation of listeners, as a Latino myself, not trying to be biased. I, personally, think Latin music is the best genre of music. “Why?” you may ask.
If you are bored or need something to lighten up your mood and need a catchy beat to listen to, Latin music is the best option. When it comes to latin music, there are so many groups and solo artists that have a variety of music styles that you can choose from.
I have some of my favorite artists myself, including El Alfa El Jefe, Bad Bunny, Pitbull, Maluma and so much more. I enjoy fast-paced songs like Dembow (Dominican music) and the rapping parts that come with those songs/ Genre of music. Latin music is such a diverse genre of music, everywhere you go you always hear some type of latin music or fans, and recently we’ve gotten way more recognition.
We most definitely cannot forget the “OG’s” that paved the way for the new “modern” latin artists today. Enrique Iglesias did a collaboration with Nicky Jam that captivated the whole entire world with the song “El Perdón”. Other artists like, Iglesias is known as the “king of latin pop”, another genre of music I enjoy also and many others is bachata. A group called Aventura was the most popular and influential latin group of all time. “Obsesion” is a bachata song that was released in 2002 and was one of their hit songs.
According to Jeff Benjamin on Forbes, “Latin music is now more popular than country & EDM in America.” Benjamin stated that when it came to “album consumption,” Latin took 9.4% and 3.9% EDM, which shows that Latin culture is being appreciated.
