Hello everyone! Hope everyone is having a great Super Bowl Sunday. Speaking of, you may know how new movies/tv series release trailers and teasers during halftime. One that I’m super excited about is the new Knuckles Spin-off coming in April 2024.

    Now, you might have heard of video game movies being made. I was happy when I heard Sonic the Hedgehog (an old classic video game) was becoming a part of that era. (I’ll talk more about this sometime during the summer before the third movie comes out in December). 

So let’s talk about the new Knuckles Spin-off series, shall we?

This spin off takes place in between the second and third movie. The second movie introduces Knuckles, and who knows what is going to happen in the third movie. 

   For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, Knuckles is one of Sonic’s frenemies When he is first introduced, he is Sonic’s enemy but then turns into one of his friends. In the film series, Knuckles is said to be the last echidna warriors in his tribe and protects the Master Emerald. This is accurate to the video game series as it is not mentioned that he is the last echidna warrior but he does protect the Chaos Emeralds (Paramount didn’t want any copyright which is understandable).  Knuckles is supposedly very strong and has the same powers as Sonic. 

   Now that you know Knuckles a bit more, let’s talk about the series. Instead of Sonic, it gives the spotlight to Knuckles. It already looks interestingbecause Knuckles was so good in the second movie, so seeing him get a tv series is worth it. In the movie, Knuckles is voiced by Idris Elba, the famous actor in Luther and the Wire. I am giving Elba massive props because he makes Knuckles so intimidating and it just looks awesome. 

   Just by looking at the trailer, it looks awesome. Like all the other films, it adds in some Easter eggs and references to the video game franchise while seeing it from a whole new perspective. I would definitely recommend watching the series and if you like it, check out the other Sonic movies. You can watch it on April 26 in Paramount Plus (if you don’t have a subscription, Paramount offers a free 7 day trial before they start charging).
