Fates irrevocably intertwined,
Photos at the exact same time of the exact same sunset,
A mesmerizing gradient of golden, rose, and sapphire,
Apart for so long, I stopped counting the days,
We’ll always have that sunset.
Re-stepping the roads we tread,
The store where you bought me a plush pig that cost way too much money,
The hayride, head on your shoulder,
It was enough, at least for me.
I thought I’d never go back to that aquarium again,
But it’s just as beautiful as it was,
I said hi to the axolotls for you.
Drawn so far apart, but the invisible string still lingers,
I still find myself using your words,
Or listening to our songs,
A part of me now, the eternal quilt of memory,
Threads bound together that can never be untwined,
We’ll always have sunsets.
