Hello everyone! I wanted to share another story from my English III Expression 4 class assignment with Mr. Bowne. To give context, we were supposed to write an essay on why we are here, what is our sole purpose in life, and how it can connect with the Great Gatsby. So down below is what I decided to write for the assignment. I will be writing and sharing a few other works on Gatsby and yes, I will be doing a review on the Great Gatsby musical that is now on Broadway. So sit back, relax, and enjoy reading it. I will see you all next time.
I want to bring happiness with me wherever I go. Sometimes I wish the world around me could be safe and not hostile and violent. That people would be nice to each other instead of selfish and angry. I hope to make just a small difference in the world, because what is the point of being miserable every day? It will only shorten your lifespan.
Meanwhile, happiness can bring you joy, laughter, and fond memories with the ones you care about. Happiness can bring you success in the near future. In The Great Gatsby, it is possible to achieve happiness. For example, Gatsby and Daisy. When they were having tea together, you could tell that they felt happy. Even though they weren’t married, they felt happy around each other. It only continues when Gatsby gives Daisy a tour of his luxurious house. You can see how Daisy was excited with Gatsby’s fortune. This shows how happiness can make a great impact on society and the world around you.
