Jewish Student Union

From the exuberant and cheerful environment to the interactive activities, junior Noam Margalit’s recently founded Jewish Student Union proves successful. Around forty students attended the first meeting.

Noam had been a part of NCSY, which is an organization that inspired her to bring awareness to the Jewish culture in a fun and interactive way.

“I wanted to bring it to Eastern in the hopes that other students will take part in it and enjoy and learn from it like I did,” she said.

According to Noam, every meeting will have a different activity and will have a different focus. There will always be food provided, such as pizza, doughnuts, and more. Club activities include informative kahoots, guest speakers, baking or cooking food related to the culture, and fun and interactive games with prizes for winners.

The organization, NCSY, also has so much to offer outside of school. There are weekly meetings at Starbucks, leadership programs, ski trips, and summer trips to Israel.

“This club gives an opportunity for many students to come and experience something new, as well as meet and make new friends. I hope for students to become a part of this organization and experience all it has to offer,” said Noam, smiling.

Meetings for Jewish Student Union are held in room 50 every other Wednesday during lunch A, and sometimes run into lunch B. To join reminds, text @ehsjsu to 81010. Follow their Instagram page to see their cool updates at @philly_jsu.
