Dolores O’Riordan of The Cranberries dies at 46

Lead singer from popular band “the Cranberries” Dolores O’Riordan died at age 46. The Irish Alternative band confirmed on Monday, January 15th. O’Riordan was in London for a recording session at the time of her death, though no further details have been released.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed to the New York Times that police were called and arrived at the singer’s hotel Monday morning and that she was pronounced dead at that scene. No cause of death was made public. The mourning band members made a statement saying, “The world has lost a true artist today.”

The band had great influence on nineties rock and pop music across the world. Some of their hits include “Dreams,” “Linger,” and “Zombie.”

Some of the bands highlights include appearing on Saturday Night Live, MTV Unplugged, and selling upwards of 40 million albums. Members of U2, the Kinks, Foster the People, and show host James Corden have made statements pertaining to the unfortunate event.

O’Riordan is survived by her three children.
