NBA Predictions

Most Valuable Player – Russell Westbrook

Reason: He had the best stats in the league and averaged a triple double for the second year in a row. He also led his team to the fourth seed in the Western Conference. He’s also the only player in the history of the NBA to drop at least 15 points and 5 rebounds on every team in the NBA in a single season. James Harden has the help of Chris Paul and therefore has no MVP clout.

Rookie of the Year – Ben Simmons

Reason: The 6’10” Aussie point guard has been incredible. He is leading all rookies in stats and also took his team on a 17 game win streak to end the season. Absolutely incredible considering he doesn’t shoot threes.

Defensive Player of the Year – Rudy Gobert

Reason: The French Phenom is dominant on the boards and in the paint and Utah has prospered because of it earning a five seed. Gobert has to be DPOY.

Sixth Man – Lou Williams

Reason: The Los Angeles guard has been nothing short of incredible this year, even if his team lacks talent. When Chris Paul left the Clippers, someone needed to step up. Who knew it would be Yung “Money” Lou off the bench averaging over 20 points per game.

Most Improved Player – Victor Oladipo

Reason: He was in my MVP contention most of the year until the end when his team went to bricks. He entered the playoffs as a five seed and took Lebron to game 7 in the Eastern Conference quarterfinals. He’s only getting better.

Coach of the Year – Brett Brown

Reason: He most likely won’t win this award but the man has took his team from the bottom to the top (winning 31 games in 2017 and 52 games in 2018). He has given an entire city a reason to Trust The Process.
