Mr. Ryan Schafer joined the Eastern staff after serving as a long term substitute for two years. He currently teaches accelerated Algebra 1 and college prep Algebra 2.

  He earned his degree from Western Governors University in mathematics. Schafer chose teaching because math comes naturally to him and has an ability to help people. This is his second full year of teaching, with his experience originating in Gloucester City.

  In the following school years, Schafer hopes to get involved with wrestling, or some other form of coaching. His personal interests include hockey and his family.

  Schafer has various types of pets: a dog, saltwater fish, and a flying squirrel. Over the summer, he and his wife enjoyed welcoming their first child to the family.

  He was drawn to Eastern for its good reputation and he looks forward to continuing to work here.
