New York abortion law is just wrong
Ever since Roe v. Wade in 1973, abortion has been a contentious and hot topic among the news. The law has fluctuated since as states vote on different weeks that women can have an abortion and New York’s is the most recent.
Every state has different views on the topic, some allowing abortions to save a women’s life after visibility, others allowing abortions after viability no matter what.
In New York it is now legal to have an abortion after 24 weeks. According to and article from BBC news, “The act removes the need for a doctor to perform some abortions and takes abortion out of the criminal code, making it a public health issue.”
The life of the unborn child is no longer protected in New York. Children’s lives are in the hands of our political leaders. The debate over “women’s rights” and “right of the unborn child” constantly sways back and forth.
Many say that in cases of rape, incest, and women’s life abortion should be very legal and very possible. However, little know that this case is less than 1% of abortion. If only this case was legalized, thousands of lives would be saved.
Virginia recently tried to get the same law passed, but was rejected by one vote. How long will it be until all 50 states make abortion legal until birth?
