What to do during quarantine

Mr. Bowne

Each of these different sports channels has aired reruns of past and famous games. For example, the NFL channel has played this year’s Super Bowl and the NBA channel has aired Kobe Bryant’s final basketball game. Different playoff championship games have also been aired of these sports for the viewers’ pleasures.

Let’s face it. Being quarantined inside your home for what appears to be at least another month isn’t fun now and won’t be fun then. However, there are some activities to do while you have so much time on your hands.

Read a book

This is a personal favorite of mine. Reading books is something that people overlook but can actually bring them joy and take time out of the day. Books can place you in a world of fantasy and imagination that you can’t find in the real world. Right now, I am reading a book trilogy called Renegades and am on the second book of the series. It is about a world run by superheroes, called Renegades, and follows Nova, an Anarchist who is against the Renegades and wants to see a world where ordinary people don’t have to rely on the Renegades. This series has passed a lot of this quarantine time for me.

Spending time with family

Okay, this is probably the most cliche recommendation but spending time with your family is always a great way to spend time. There are multiple ways to do this. In times like these, family is the most important people to be around.

Binging a TV show

Right now, I am binging The Office on Netflix. I know I’m late to the party but better late than never, right? Binge watching a TV show can make hours of the day seem like minutes, especially if it is a show that appeals to you. Hey, you can binge watch a TV show with your family as well

Playing board games

Look! Here’s another activity you can do with your family. Board games are interactive, fun ways to cure boredom. A game of Scrabble or Monopoly can easily bring the mood up in the house in a competition and light manner.

Walk around the neighborhood

Just because you aren’t allowed to go to public areas does not mean you can’t explore the nature of your neighborhoods. A walk around the neighborhood not only allows you to soak up some sun, but can also be a form of exercise in this time where you can’t really exercise unless you have a treadmill or a weight bench in your home.

Eat

This suggestion is more or less a joke but it could work for you!
