Open Letter to Gloria Steinem
Thank you for speaking your mind and always standing up for what you believe in.
Dear Gloria Steinem
When I was in 7th grade, I was asked to do a project on someone who inspires me. While doing my research, I came across you, and I was instantly amazed. Your ability to make change, and your passion for women’s rights, was refreshing. As I continued to study your accomplishments, I knew I had chosen the right person for the assignment.
When you gave your speech, “What Do Women Expect,” did you receive any backlash? If so, how did you deal with it, and how did you have the motivation to progress? I can imagine how nerve wrecking it would be to go against the beliefs of some people to stand up for your rights.
Were you scared, or were you so overcome with the rush of standing up for what you believed, that it didn’t even phase you?
The more I learned about you, the more curious I became about your experiences and what led to your feminist passion. How did you get into the topic of women’s rights? Was there an event in your life that made you feel so strongly about it?
You are such an empowering person and you have most definitely made your mark.
Thank you for speaking your mind and always standing up for what you believe in, and having no remorse for it.
Sincerely,
Julia Capozzoli
