It is time to hold Kanye West accountable
The situation involving Kanye West is unfolding everyday, and West seems to be digging himself a deeper hole.
Kanye West has been popular since 2000.
He is known for his rap and hip-pop music, as well as his shoe brand, Yeezy’s.
Since then, West married the queen of Hollywood, Kim Kardashian, and they went on to have four children with each other.
Earlier this year in March, the couple divorced. Now there are many theories about what made the couple finally divorce after being separated, but we’ve learned as viewers that Kanye West does suffer from mental illnesses.
Since the divorce, it seemed as though Kanye West has gone off the rails.
With some comments West has made in the past, he seems to always address the comment apologizing. In the past, he seems to blame some things on his mental illness, but now is it too far?
On Saturday, October 8th, Kanye West sent out a disturbing tweet commenting on the Jewish people saying he was “going deathcon 3 on Jewish people. The funny thing is I can’t actually be anti-semitic because black people are Jewish also…”
When asked if he was sorry in a later interview about his tweet, he said he’s “absolutely not sorry.” After his failed attempt to apologize, many brands spoke out to say that they have dropped West either as a client or a business partner.
The most shocking was Adidas who West had a billion dollar company with. “Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech. Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness.
After a thorough review, the company has taken the decision to terminate the partnership with Ye immediately, end production of Yeezy branded products and stop all payments to Ye and his companies. adidas will stop the adidas Yeezy business with immediate effect…” Adidas explains in a statement they released.
Another shocking business termination was by none other than the Lawyer Camille Vasquez, known for representing Johnny Depp in his defamation case against Amber Heard.
TMZ reported that Vasquez told her firm that she refused to work with West. TMZ reports the firm, Brown Rudnick, said they would still work with West if he “retracted his antisemetic comments,” unfortunately West refused to do so.
The situation involving Kanye West is unfolding everyday, and West seems to be digging himself a deeper hole. West has said offensive things in his past, and still managed to come back, but when is it time to stop giving hateful people second chances? Especially those who have a major influence on young growing children.
Enough is enough.
And it is time to hold Kanye West accountable.
