She shouldn’t cover that pretty face.
Men like “natural” girls,
Makeup is like catfishing.
But then we hear,
Girls that don’t wear makeup are lazy.
She’s a “pick me.”
She’s too overconfident.
She’s just putting other girls down.
But we also know,
That it’s a choice.
It’s a mask.
It’s comforting.
Why does she wear so much makeup?
If she’s already beautiful enough?
Why would she cover,
The thing that makes her unique?
It’s one of two things.
She is insecure
Because she has been told
She is not enough
Or,
She is confident enough,
To know it’s just a mask,
But it makes her feel confident.
One may feel changed,
From such a tiny change,
That makes her eyes pop,
Or makes her nose seem smaller,
She feels clean
She’s ready
She doesn’t quite know what it is,
But it feels like she is prepared.
