PARCC are measures of content and skills aligned with standards in courses. PARCC assessments are aligned to courses and standards not necessarily grade level. “Grade level expectations” are more aligned in grades 3-8.

Here are the test numbers:

– 489 freshmen tested up from the 293 that tested in 2015 and 371 that tested in 2016

– 298 sophomores tested up from the 250 that tested in 2015 and 182 that tested in 2016

– 81 juniors tested down from the 121 that tested in 2015 and 112 that tested in 2016

ENGLISH

– 53.2% of freshman met or exceeded grade level expectations up from 40.6% in 2015 and down

from 58.7% in 2016

– 55.7% of sophomores met or exceeded grade-level expectations, up from 38% in 2015 and up from 48.4% in 2016

– 18.5% of juniors met or exceeded grade-level expectations, up from 14.9% in 2015 and down

from 25% in 2016

MATH

– 23.8% of students that took Algebra I met or exceeded grade level expectations, up from 23.2%

in 2015 and down from 40.5% in 2016.

– 34.9% of students that took Geometry met or exceeded grade level expectations, down from 35.3% in 2015 and down from 49.8% in 2016.

– 55.7% of students that took Algebra II met or exceeded grade level projections expectations, up from 40.8%

in 2015 and up from 41.7% in 2016.
