Brett Kavanaugh allegations spark calls for impeachment

Isn’t this what the FBI is for? To investigate a suspected crime?

Have the scales of justice been unfairly weighed in favor of Kavanaugh?

Have the scales of justice been unfairly weighed in favor of Kavanaugh?

In my first week of 8th grade, sitting in Mr. Kosyla’s room, I learned two things; One Mr. Kos loves the Boston Red Sox, and two the Brett Kavanaugh allegations had just hit the news.

In July of 2018, Christine Blasey Ford, a psychology professor in California, discreetly sent a letter to Dianne Feinstein, the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

In that letter that was not released publicly, at Ford’s request, she cites that Kavanaugh physically and sexually assaulted her while they were in high school. Once it was released, Kavanaugh, who had just been nominated by Trump to the high court to replace retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy, immediately denied the claims. The FBI soon after put the letter in his background check file but didn’t open a criminal investigation.

After I had heard about the FBI not opening a criminal investigation, my immediate reaction was confusion. I was thinking, You’re joking right?

Isn’t this what the FBI is for? To investigate a suspected crime?

Later in the same day both parties agreed to testify, a second woman came to light with allegations towards Kavanaugh, and three days later, a third woman came forward to accuse him of sexual misconduct. Kavanaugh then called the claims “ridiculous and from the Twilight Zone.”

Is it really that ridiculous to think that if you’re at a party and you do something bone-headed someone might actually catch you doing it?

After a couple of weeks, Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed as a new Supreme Court justice. Sigh. I still ask myself, Why? Just why?

Why would they confirm him when he has allegations of committing such a horrible crime?

It’s squandering many people’s ideas of the Supreme Court. The place that is held so high and mighty for getting justice is letting these allegations just slip through the cracks. It just feels pretty hypocritical.

Kavanaugh has been serving on the Supreme Court for about a year, and now a new sexual misconduct accusation is coming to life.

When is this going to stop? So many women now have come out and said Kavanaugh did inappropriate things to them, so what are we waiting for? Are they waiting for the women to just get tired of all of this and back away?

Some people are now saying that they were there when these things happened. The Court has witnesses from these parties and women willing to speak out. In what way is not doing anything but watching serving justice to these women?

Many are saying that he should just be impeached. If he really did these things, he would’ve lied under oath at the hearing a year back. Plus, maybe there are more women not speaking out. It’s only fair we get the real truth, not what Kavanaugh wants us to hear.

Let’s start investigating more. If they don’t actually try, we’ll never get the truth, or justice for these women. That’s not right or fair to anyone.
