What online lessons have been effective so far with remote learning?

For my first Spanish class, my teacher uploaded a personal Q & A test, so she could get to know all of the students better. When we finished and submitted it online, all of the answers we’re available for us to see and observe. After that, she had us write a paragraph in Spanish describing how the test went and if we had the same answers as other classmates. It was a great activity because not only did I get to learn stuff about other classmates, but it was also concise, which is what I believe every lesson for any class should be.

Mr. D’Antonio, my English teacher, recorded himself reading a short story, uploaded the recording as well as a pdf of the story, and had us read along with him and answer questions.

For my AP Psychology class, Mrs. Molloy is trying to replicate what we do in class by posting video lectures and having students apply the concepts to their own lives. – SASHA TUDDENHAM ‘20

The best lesson I’ve had was a voice over lecture from Mr. Hering (AP Gov). I just felt that was the closest to real learning I’ve had at home.

Even though it was SO MUCH WORK, Isshak today had us watch a video and read two articles and gave us questions to go with them. He specified which questions went with which material and the questions were really open ended so they gave us room to express our opinion.

A great online lesson I’ve had is my Prob Stat class. My teacher sent out a Nearpod with all his notes for his lesson, and had us complete the Nearpod. We answered questions, read notes, and there were examples for us to see what the problems look like. – FAITH SIRDASHNEY ‘20

My history teacher has been very good with continuing lessons. He usually posts a slides presentation with a voice over lecture thats about 6 or more minutes and then assigns a secondary source for us to read. To sign out, we answer a question about what we discussed that day.
