Senior Theatre Speeches: Jillian Jasner

On closing night of every show, the seniors are given the opportunity to speak on their time as a member of Eastern Theatre, and share any advice they have to the underclass men. Due to the circumstances, this tradition was not able to happen. However, this is what Jillian would have said.

I would just say that everyone is enough the way that they are and you have to convince yourself of that before all else. For anyone who’s experiencing that, it’ll change your experience completely.”

“Eastern Theatre is a place where anyone can succeed with confidence—TALENT DOES NOT MATTER. It’s something I learned wayyyy too late, and the first time I actually felt good about myself and saw how rewarding the process could be was my senior fall play. It took losing weight and changing my appearance for me to see that I belonged, so what I would tell other kids is that it won’t make you feel better or more talented!

Confidence does. Fake it ‘till you make it.
