The Stage

100 Word Stories

I’m shaking with anticipation. My nerves are mixing with my adrenaline to create an indescribable feeling. A feeling I have never felt anywhere else.

I know my parents are behind the curtain, sitting in the fifth row of the center section. They will look for my identifier, the brown frames, sitting on my face up on the stage when I walk out.

The lights cut off as the music fades out. And then it’s time. The curtain lifts up. I squint to find the fifth row. The feeling is even stronger now. My adrenaline takes over when the music starts.
