We Are Free
100 Word Story
Someday in the future, we will have jobs and houses and loans and responsibilities.
But for now, we are children. My friends and I run into the cold ocean, the moon shining high above us, lighting up our adventures.
My best friend tackles me and we fall together under the water, the air in our lungs bubbling up as laughter.
As we break the surface once again we are quiet.
In the silence, we hear the lapping of the waves on the shore, the distant carnival music, the crickets harmonizing with the tune.
In that silence, we hear our freedom.
