What is taking so long for the final, all-together steps of impeachment?

Donald Trump has been impeached by the House for the 2nd time.

Under Constitutional law, the House must vote on articles of impeachment by a simple majority vote. On January 14th, the House of Representatives had a majority vote to remove President Trump from office before his 6 days of presidency are terminated. When brought forth the 25th Amendment, many argue the slacks and cutbacks the 45th president has earned. Not only has he committed a series of treason, bribery, and many misdemeanors, but Trump paid only $750 in federal income tax which can result in criminal charges and jail time.

Furthermore, the President seeks reasons for impeachment by broadcasting and advertising false speeches of victory, demands of storming and rioting the United States Capitol, and constant Twitter posts that break many amendments that millions of citizens have been penalized for. Their simple majority vote impeached the president for his acts of insurrection, which will later be voted on again for a final time by the Senate to prove reasons impeachment to levels of disabling Trump’s ability to run for president again in 2024.

Troubles arise as the benefits and doubts of impeachment come into play. First, with only a few days left of office, it may not be possible to complete the whole process of procedures with impeachment in a swift manner. Also, the Senate would have to come up with a two-thirds majority vote, and conviction is hard due to Republican Senator Mitch McConnell’s lead in defending the president.

But, section four of the 25th Amendment speaks to every liberal and democrat who seeks fairness: “Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro Tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.”

Without this amendment, there would be no reason for ideas of impeachment. To add, the 25th amendment remarks about the impeachment process if a president is physically or mentally unable to run a country. Two sides of the argument from Democrats and Republicans make the overall process of impeachment difficult.

What is the big hold-up on the impeachment process? For one, the latest mobs sent from President Trump to his supporters in the United States Capitol delayed and added reasons for impeachment. Second, impeachment takes around 2 full weeks to gather all evidence.

The big questions of how soon and how often the 25th amendment should be used are essential to prevent any further damage to America.
